Other Borneo Golf Courses
Sabah Golf & Country Club
Fifteen minutes out of Kota Kinabalu is one of Asia’s toughest courses. Designed by Robert Muir Graves the course is carved out of a former rubber plantation and is a real gem. The 14th hole is probably the toughest and requires a 200 metre drive to reach the top of the fairway and a good second shot to reach the dogleg right before a short iron approach, from an undulating lie to the green, can be attempted.
Borneo Golf & Country Club
One hour south of Kota Kinabalu is this classy Jack Nicklaus course. A natural lagoon dominates with carries required on most holes on the second nine but better golfers will find birdie opportunities as well thought out tee shots on many par fours leave only short iron approaches to large and receptive greens that are well bunkered. Considered by many as one of golf’s most beautiful and intriguing layouts this is a must for those who are looking for a real challenge.
