Being the former home of the Governor of Sri Lanka, the Grand Hotel is a century-old monument to a time of imperial luxury and Edwardian comfort. At a 6,000 feet elevation, it is set amongst tea estates in the misty hills of the Sri Lanka highlands. In an incomparable natural setting surrounded by hills, it is approached by an imposing driveway flanked by carpet-grass green lawns. In addition to the main restaurant, there is an a la carte fine dining restaurant as well as a restaurant specialising in providing Indian cuisine. The public bar is ever popular and the Supper club with its panoramic bar and lounge are always well patronised. Being adjacent to such a delightful golf course is the icing on the cake.
