Tailor Made Holidays Asia
Traditions as old as time itself still being played out today - we take you off
the beaten path to show you the real magic that still is the Orient.
If you are only going to go once – do it right, we don’t cut corners we
include all the essential sightseeing and dropping out the waste of time
‘fillers’ often included in set arrangements by larger firms.
Asia is home to some of the most exciting countries on
earth with ancient dynasties and colourful cultures.
Cultural China
Adventurous travellers visit China for wonderful experiences like
walking on the Great Wall, watching a jaw dropping acrobatic show, or
witnessing cormorant fishermen working with their wild birds in Guilin
catching fish for dinner! Or taking a behind the scenes tour of the
mystical Forbidden City. Our entire China programme has the added
advantage of giving you a free English speaking private guide at your
disposal in each centre allowing you guided sightseeing to suit you
(not a large tour group) and no early morning starts! Enjoy our
carefully chosen restaurants suited to the European palate, usually
small and intimate. We fly you between major centres avoiding the usual
lengthy transfers, meaning you spend more of your time visiting just
the sights you want to see with time to relax and come home feeling
you have had a holiday.
Hidden Japan
A modern country proud of its ancient traditions.
A must for any traveller, Japan is
simply unique (even by Oriental standards!) A mix of its ancient history,
religious beliefs, customs and huge respect for traditional values has resulted
in a nation and culture so unusual and different to western society, it
rewards any visitor with a fascinating mix of urban lifestyle and traditional culture.
Watch a Sumo wrestling match, learn about Samurai warriors, or let us
take you with a private guide around the Geisha quarters in Old Kyoto.
Enjoy a ‘flight’ onboard the fabulous futuristic Bullet Train.
Our accommodation range is anything from a Japanese family home or a
traditional Roykan Inn to a luxurious spa hotel. Spend the afternoon
learning the art of flower arranging or how to wear a Kimono or the
etiquette of a traditional Japanese tea ceremony.
We can show you the ultra modern and the traditional almost hidden side of Japan.
During each of the four seasons there’s something to see, from the picturesque scenery of Mount Fuji
to the spectacular festivals on throughout the year all over the country.
Colourful Thailand
One of Asia’s success stories this amazing land never fails to surprise and bring
a smile to your face. Traditional value and colourful customs can be
combined with minimalistic boutique hotels (many not offered by major operators).
Thailand is popular with couples for the ultimate romantic escape and with families
looking for an adventurous holiday such as staying in an ancient teak forest at an
elephant sanctuary. Witness monks in their Buddhist temples or take a high speed motor
launch through the meandering klongs of Bangkok to be part of the morning market.
Thailand is still one of the best first time places to visit in the Far East.
If you go once, we bet you will return.
Off the beaten path in Vietnam
For us this is the dark horse of the Orient, extremely rewarding and well worth
visiting soon before it changes forever. This emerging destination is
growing by word of mouth every year. An intriguing difficult history
and mix of European and Oriental influences have all left their mark on
this charming, beautiful place.
Pack your sense of adventure and take the overnight train to the
high hills of Sapa to visit the minority groups who tend the beautiful
green rice terraces clinging to the mountains and enjoy tea from the
terrace of your hotel looking down on the emerald green valley in the
morning sunshine. Rickshaws are the only way to get about bustling Hanoi –
colourful night time markets make the evenings fun. Spend an overnight
on one of the original junks sailing around the breathtaking world heritage site of Halong Bay – or take a sampan or kayak into the caves in the still
blue waters.
Walk through history in Ho Chi Minh City, formerly Saigon where the recent
American war is relived in the moving war remnants museum and palace complex. Travel outside the city to the jungle and walk with a ranger to the Chi Chui tunnels. Like all nations they are eager to become ‘modern’ and westernized so travel now
and catch a glimpse of the magical lifestyle that still exists today.
Natural Borneo
Increasingly we find travellers becoming more adventurous, looking for
more than just exotic beach stays, requiring good quality accommodation
and soft adventure activities. Be it staying in a longhouse with Indians
for the night on a river safari or watching turtles laying eggs (year round)
on the beach under torchlight. Snorkeling over a reef in crystal clear waters
on the base of a sunken volcano to jungle trekking and visiting the Chimpanzees sanctuary.
Let us make the most of your visit to the rich unspoiled side of Borneo.
Soft adventure combines so easily with luxurious stays in this lesser known Far East gem.
Magical Malaysia
Malaysia has more than beaches on offer – the green cool of the Cameron Highlands
makes for a welcome few days break journeying with a private guide or on a self
drive through the tea plantations. Well worth combining with the coral shores of
this tropical getaway. Ask us about our Jalan Jalan tours to get the most out of
this beautiful country or perhaps you want to have the ultimate honeymoon on some
of the boutique properties on the many islands that are within easy reach of the mainland.

Romantic Bali
Thatched roofed hotels, flame torches and wooden xylophones all help create a magical setting for any stay on this heavenly island.
Fishermen working under lamplight in a lagoon and the distant sound of calls in the
jungle all gently settled with the sound of waves lapping on the ocean front outside
your hotel. Duck farmers walking along the side fo the rice paddies with a long line
of ducks following a bell on the end of a ribbon ! Mossy covered waterfalls and exotic
blooms adorn the gardens of the hotels we feature - making this the ultimate romantic getaway.
If you're looking for action then we can spice up any beach stay with exciting excursions from
white water rafting to horse-back sunrise breakfast up the side of a dormant volcano
to see the new day start. Traditional dances and much use of traditional dress and
ways of life make Bali truly ‘another world’ certainly away from the everyday! Intoxicating …
