Heritage Le Telfair Golf & Spa Resort 18-hole championship golf course was designed by Matkovich & Hayes one of the leading golf course landscapers and designers in South Africa. The course they have designed has some unique and challenging features including two rivers, Citronniers and St Martin, that run through it, as well as the Chateau de Bel Ombre with its beautiful French gardens. Golfers enjoy a magnificent view of both the breathtaking colours of the ocean and the mountains.

The course, which adjoins the Hotel, gives residents access to the course via golf cart through a private pathway. Having taken cognisance of your tee off time, golf carts are brought to the porte cochere for added convenience. Guest's golf clubs are carefully polished and safely stored in individual lockers at the resort, ready for another day on the greens. As well as a welcoming clubhouse where missed birdies and eagles can be debated over a favourite tipple, golfers have access to a pro shop, golf carts for hire, and if you've always wanted to improve on that handicap, there's expert tuition from a resident Golf Pro.

Unlimited green fees on Heritage Golf Club included.

For the statistically minded the par 72 course is designed in two loops, each consisting of 9 holes. The outward nine is 3190m in length while the inward loop has a length of 3250m. The four par threes vary in length from 140m to 200m, the par fours from 320m to 430m and the four par fives from 490m to 520m.

A championship golf course

This is the first golf course designed and built by a South African on the island of Mauritius. The land was originally a sugar estate and many of the landscaping and design features on the course, soft contours and the use of Vettiver and Mondo grass, were created to blend in with and simulate the sugar cane fields which still surround the course.

Holes: 11th

hole 11 at the Golf Du Chateau

This hole plays into the prevailing wind to a generous landing area split by 2 bunkers. Up the left side makes the approach shot longer but safer, up the right plays shorter but brings the water hazard and bunker more into play.

Holes: 13th

hole 13 at the Golf Du Chateau

The 13th is a classic short hole over water maximising the view of the grove of trees.

Holes: 15th

hole 15 at the Golf Du Chateau

This short hole plays downhill over acres of waving Mondo grass and requires an accurate shot to avoid the bunkers and land it pin-high.

Holes: 16th

hole 16 at the Golf Du Chateau

This 2-shotter feeds drives towards the river and trees where there is much more space than the view from the tee suggests. The approach shot is to a 3-tiered green, protected by bunkers on the left, placing demand on length and accuracy.

Holes: 18th

hole 18 at the Golf Du Chateau

The par-5 closing hole plays short if the prevailing wind is blowing presenting a birdie opportunity, but not without risk. Water on the left and a series of bunkers on the right are ready to receive any wayward approaches to the undulating green.
