Meet The Team
At Chaka Travel we pride ourselves on providing a highly personalised service and having an intimate knowledge of some of the worlds’ most exciting destinations, including Mauritius, Maldives, Seychelles, South Africa, Dubai, Thailand, Malaysia, Bali, Cyprus, Morocco, USA and Europe.
Originally from Zimbabwe, Mark has a love for the outdoors, wildlife and foreign cultures which prompted him to start Chaka Travel in 1995. Whilst enjoying seeing the company grow Mark is keen to maintain the high level of friendliness and personal service that has made so many clients become ‘friends’. His only regret is that his golf game doesn’t do justice to the world class courses he has been lucky enough to play! Mark is the proud father of Louise and Emily, both girls are now well seasoned travellers and have both been involved in the company in small ways over the years!
Senior Sales Consultant
I am now in my 14th year at Chaka and have been lucky to visit many of the destinations we offer and played some of the best courses in the world. Having been in the travel industry since 1991 it is lovely to be able to mix my hobby with work, as I get to talk golf every day of the week and am able to share my knowledge of my golf trips and pass this on to the clients to ensure they get the best out of their golf holiday. I am a member of Rockmount golf club and currently playing off a handicap of 7 which I hope to improve on but only playing once a week it might be a challenge! I’m a proud father of Ben who is a keen footballer and golfer, and Lucie a hockey player and has now taken up golf as well. It’s always good to encourage them.
Sports Tours Manager
I am married to Caroline and dad to twin boys Logan and Finn who most certainly keep us on our toes. My role in Chaka combines two of my biggest passions, sports and bespoke tours. Every tour is unique and with my knowledge and background I can help our customers create and deliver the perfect trip for their organisation. Please get in contact to discuss your team or groups potential plans
I was born and grew up in Hong Kong so from a young age I started to travel and loved experiencing new countries and cultures. I have been lucky enough to travel all over Asia as well as visiting Australia, New Zealand, North America, The Caribbean and over ten countries in Europe. I’m obsessed with sports and all kinds of activities especially when travelling, highlights being Bungee Jumping in Bali, Paragliding in New Zealand and doing a ski season in Canada. Back at home, I like to spend my free time at live music events, playing football, cricket and tennis or golf at RBGC where I hold a handicap of 8. I studied International Tourism at the University of Ulster graduating in 2016. I’m now lucky enough to work at a company like Chaka where I have completed a South Africa Specialist Program. Chaka combines my love for travel, activities, sports and events
Chaka Travel’s PGA Pro
South African born Jacques moved to the UK in 2000 and since then has worked as a PGA Professional in England. Since his path crossed with Chaka Travel in 2013 he has not looked back, in his own words “The guys at Chaka Travel has made my dream come true. They made it possible for me to take groups of golfers to some of the most beautiful locations and whilst playing golf with them and improving their golf through professional tuition”. Obviously South Africa was his first country to visit with a group and since then he has added more countries with groups joining him to Turkey, Mauritius and Spain
Based in Surrey, Sean is a seasoned golfer currently playing off a handicap of 5. Having qualified and worked in financial services, Sean changed careers to pursue his joint passions of travel and golf. Having built up extensive destination knowledge from playing golf across Australia, South Africa, Mauritius, France, Portugal and Dubai, he is keen to share his passion for playing golf at the best golf courses across the globe. Besides golf, Sean pursues his interest in health and fitness, which includes strength training, hot yoga, Pilates, circuits and boxing and he takes part in Long Drive competitions. Having been hitting distances over 380 yards, his current target is to hit over the 400-yard mark.

Stevie completed a Post Graduate training program at Loch Lomond Golf Club and has since worked extensively in the sports & travel industries including for the International Cultural Exchange Program Camp America as well as at the National Football Stadium in Belfast. I love travelling and have visited many many wonderful places throughout the world and I been known to forget to return home from my travels at times (in my younger days)! I love nothing more than planning an exciting journey that captures at times my very imaginative mind.
I joined Chaka Travel fresh from university and a post-graduation internship with a local agency. While learning the value of travel, I acquired a wide range of web and print skills from working in a small, tight-knit company. I was lucky enough to organise a paradise honeymoon through Chaka in Mauritius and cannot wait to get back there again at some point. Usually, I’ll be trying to keep fit by doing the park run’s, going to the gym or visiting as many National Trust Parks as I can with my wife, Nicola.
