The course holds the honour of being the only course outside the British mainland to hold the Open Championship (1951), and recently announced it will again hold the prestigious championship in 2019. Links courses such as Portstewart, Castlerock and Ardglass, also parkland courses such as Royal Belfast and Belvoir should all be considered. Particular mention should be made of the luxury five-star Lough Erne resort with its course which was designed by Sir Nick Faldo. Besides the golf, there are endless attractions in the country; the world heritage site at the Giant’s Causeway attracts tourists from every continent, the same can be said for the recently opened Titanic visitor centre in Belfast.
