Muscat Hills Golf Course was the first 18 hole grassed golf course to be built in the Sultanate of Oman. The course is uniquely designed over 45 hectors of land that boasts sea views and a spectacular back drop of the Al Hajar Mountains. The course is landscaped in and around the natural Wadi terrain offering generous fairways and challenging shots over the wadi escarpments.
The course offers 5 teeing ground options and therefore caters to a wide range of golfing ability, with the main challenge coming from three of our par-3 holes that are played over the dramatic wadi escarpment.
” Muscat Hills offers a unique experience to international visitors to Oman, including it’s natural ‘Wadi’s’. A Wadi is basically a natural valley in the desert landscape and when it rains it forms an Oasis! It’s pretty cool to see and they have multiple spectacular Par-3’s over the Wadi’s. “
“The course itself is quite open off the tee and always in great condition, perfect for all standards of golfer. ”
The 18-hole course at Ghala is set snugly into a valley, surrounded by the iconic Al-Hajar mountains which provide a stunning backdrop for your round. The narrow fairways leading into the mountains provide a challenge for all levels of player.
Ghala Golf Club is the oldest and most well-known golf club in Oman. Established in 1971 by Colonel Cooper, the club started out as a modest 9-hole sand course. It has since grown to 250+ members, more than any other club in Oman, and an 18-hole, fully-grassed course.
“Ghala has some of the craziest tee shots you’ll ever play in golf! Set within the Hajar mountains, you play a few holes which seem to be cut out of the mountain, it’s unique and picturesque. “
“The course has been transformed from a full sand course to a fully grassed course and you just can’t believe it. The condition and design of the course is great, with some sneaky run off areas around the greens. You won’t be hitting 18 greens around here! “
Along a two-kilometre stretch of pristine coastline, flanking the Indian Ocean and with the stunning Hajjar mountain range in the background, lies a striking oasis of lush green grass, accented with bunkers, water hazards and natural dunes. At 7,342 yards long, the 18-hole Championship Course at Al Mouj Golf is Oman’s first links style course offering amateurs and professionals a challenging, yet rewarding game of golf.
“My favourite golf course in the whole of the Middle East! Al Mouj has it all. The beauty of the natural coastline, the picturesque Hajjar mountains in the distance and what must be said, Greg Normans most stunningly designed golf course.”
“Host of the European Tours ‘Oman Open’, the course is a joy to play and a perfect reason to book an Oman golf holiday. “
