ZimbabweZimbabwe is blessed with some of Africa’s finest wildlife sanctuaries, the world’s greatest waterfall and a superb climate all year round. Mark Marais, MD of Chaka Travel is from Zimbabwe and following a recent visit is delighted to report that the situation has changed considerably from a few years ago and now it’s probably the safest country in Africa for a holiday!
Zimbabwe has great natural beauty, amazing safari and game reserves as well as mineral wealth. The diverse landscape changes from mountainous to wilderness to typical Bushveld. The Zimbabwean area is also home to large animals and a large bird population, making this area a great place for a safari – yet a relatively untouched and unknown magical paradise…. Zimbabwe is a country located in the southern part of the continent of Africa, between the Victoria Falls, the Zambezi River, Kariba Dam and the Limpopo River. Zimbabwe is bordered by South Africa to the south, Botswana to the west, Zambia to the north and Mozambique to the east. The best thing about Zimbabwe is that it is a relatively unknown and untouched area making it the ideal safari destination; as it has the most amazing sights as well as great safari wildlife and lush vegetation. We would be pleased to share our intimate knowledge of the fascinating country and assist you with putting together a holiday to remember. On this page, we provide a brief overview of the areas we recommend visiting. Best Game Viewing Months: The best time to travel in Zimbabwe is April through to September when the weather is mild with little rain. October starts to get hot and November to March its hot with the occasional afternoon rain showers. Victoria Falls is at its fullest in January through to April but the best time to see Victoria Falls is August through to December as it clearer to see the falls with less water being thrown up in the air. In the lower Zambezi, the rainy season is from mid-November to mid-March and this can make some of the roads impassable. Most of the walking safaris and canoe safaris run throughout the year as there are usually only short rain showers in the afternoon followed by wonderful sunny weather Scheduled and tailor-made Zimbabwe safaris: Zimbabwe is becoming the traveller’s choice for a safari destination in Southern Africa for a true African bush experience. We offer scheduled camping or lodge safaris or if you’d like we can tailor–make a private Zimbabwe safari to meet your departure date, time period, group size and budget. We highly recommend a Zimbabwe safari to Victoria Falls and to the Zambezi River!
