A championship golf courseFor the statistically minded the par 72 course is designed in two loops, each consisting of 9 holes. The outward nine is 3190m in length while the inward loop has a length of 3250m. The four par threes vary in length from 140m to 200m, the par fours from 320m to 430m and the four par fives from 490m to 520m.This is the first golf course designed and built by a South African on the island of Mauritius. The land was originally a sugar estate and many of the landscaping and design features on the course, soft contours and the use of Vettiver and Mondo grass, were created to blend in with and simulate the sugar cane fields which still surround the course.11th Hole
This hole plays into the prevailing wind to a generous landing area split by 2 bunkers. Up the left side makes the approach shot longer but safer, up the right plays shorter but brings the water hazard and bunker more into play.13th Hole
The 13th is a classic short hole over water maximising the view of the grove of trees.15th Hole
This short hole plays downhill over acres of waving Mondo grass and requires an accurate shot to avoid the bunkers and land it pin-high.16th Hole
This 2-shotter feeds drives towards the river and trees where there is much more space than the view from the tee suggests. The approach shot is to a 3-tiered green, protected by bunkers on the left, placing demand on length and accuracy.18th Hole
The par-5 closing hole plays short if the prevailing wind is blowing presenting a birdie opportunity, but not without risk. Water on the left and a series of bunkers on the right are ready to receive any wayward approaches to the undulating green.
