Founded in 1885 by Sir John Lumsden, The Royal Dublin Golf Club is steeped in golfing history and is widely accepted as one of the greatest links courses in the world, excellent location for amazing golf holidays in Ireland.

The Royal Dublin Golf Club has hosted many Irish championships, starting with the Irish Amateur Open back in 1894. The Royal Dublin Golf Club hosted The Carrolls Irish Open from 1983-1985 with Seve Ballesteros winning in 1983 and 1985 and Bernhard Langer winning in 1984.

“Five-star golf”, “a top course”, “challenging but rewarding” are some of the comments made by the visitors after playing the links at The Royal Dublin Golf Club. The links is a traditional out-and-back design created in 1920 by Harry Colt. In the early 2000’s the Club enlisted links design expert Martin Hawtree to make significant changes which have been widely praised and acknowledged by many. After these changes the links remains challenging and highly recommended for golf holidays in Ireland.
