Els Club Teluk Datai
A mere four minutes from the resort, Els Club Teluk Datai is one of the world’s most captivating golf courses and was designed by four-time major winner and former world champion Ernie Els.
“Designed by the golf legend Ernie Els as a tribute to the surrounding nature, the 47-hectare course is nestled in a 10 million years old rainforest with a magnificent backdrop of Matchinchang, a primordial mountain range with marbled peaks proudly reaching towards the sky. Stretching all the way to the coast, the course enchants with a mesmerizing view of the emerald green Andaman Sea”
Nestled between the primeval rainforest and the emerald green of the Andaman Sea, the award-winning, 18-hole, par-72 championship golf course at The Els Club Teluk Datai, designed by legendary player Ernie Els, provides a grand game experience in one of the world’s most spectacular settings.
With the marbled peaks of the mighty Machincang mountain range as a backdrop, the 47-hectare course has been developed to honour its natural surroundings. Typical bunkers have been replaced by less conventional golfing ‘hazards’, including tropical vegetation and streams, and even the holes’ names, such as Macaque Manor, are a subtle nod to the wildlife that can often be spotted around the course.
The Els Club Teluk Datai also offers state-of-the-art club facilities, including buggies equipped with GPS units, a fully stocked golf shop and full-amenity locker rooms, as well as two relaxation areas in the clubhouse. The Hornbill Café, which overlooks the course, and the open-air Els Lounge are the perfect place to unwind after your round.
