GOLF DETAILS
BRG Kings Island Golf Resort, Kings Course
18 holes par 72 (7310 yards)
Designer: Nicklaus Design
Established: 2018
Location: 36 kilometres west of Hanoi
BRG Kings Island Golf Resort is a 54 hole golf resort in the outskirts of Hanoi. The golf resort lies on the shores of the Dong Mo reservoir 36 kilometers from Hanoi. At only 45 minutes drive from the capital, King’s Island is a high quality and convenient choice to include in any North Vietnam golf package.
Access to the course is by boat, or car in the case of the Kings Course. The island golf complex situated site comprises 350 hectares of land and 1,500 hectares of waterfront. The Kings Course is the newest 18 at Kings Island.
Designed by Jack Nicklaus and opened for play in 2018 all 18 holes feature a modern resort style layout. Wide fairways with intricate bunker complexes characterize each hole. More open compared to both the Lakeside and Mountainview Courses, the Kings Course is the best choice for club golfers.
That said the 7,310-yard layout is no pushover for the more accomplished players. Accurate shots into the greens are needed to score well. Some of the best holes include the 196 yard fourth and 232-yard seventeenth. Both are par-3’s and play to severely bunkered greens.
FLC Ha Long Bay Golf Club
18 holes par 71 (6092 yards)
Designer: Schmidt Curley
Established: 2017
Location: 20 minutes from Ha Long Bay
FLC Ha Long Bay Golf Club opened for play in August 2017. Twenty minutes from Ha Long City and three hours from Hanoi, the 18-hole championship designed by Schmidt-Curley offers stunning scenic ocean views over the famous UNESCO world heritage site.
The golf course sits above the old town of Ha Long Bay and overlooks the spectacular limestone karst-riddled bay. The dramatic terrain offers a drastic departure from the sandy dunes of coastal Vietnamese golf sites.
The Ha Long Bay golf course belongs to the FLC Ha Long luxury resort complex and serves as the centerpiece of the project. The FLC Ha Long Golf Club course is short at 6,092 yards from the tips and plays to a par-71. Paspalum turf from tees to greens ensure good year-round playing surfaces. While the focus is on playability and scenery, there are a variety of challenges to test the skills of even the most seasoned golfers.
Ba Na Hills Golf Club
18 holes par 72 (7858 yards)
Designer: Luke Donald
Established: 2016
Location: 15 kilometres west of Danang
Ba Na Hills Golf Club is 25 minutes inland from Danang Vietnam near the foothills of the cable car station leading to Bana Hills. The IMG managed Da Nang golf course is the first Luke Donald designed course not only in Asia but in the world.
Ba Na Hills is laid out in several valleys of the surrounding mountain ranges. The Ba Na Hills Mountain course has a diverse mix of natural topography and vegetation. The holes at higher elevation have nice vantage points with spectacular views of the valleys below.

BRG Da Nang Golf Resort
36 holes par 72/36 (7142/7200 yards)
Designer: Greg Norman, Jack Nicklaus
Established: 2010
Location: Danang Beach, halfway between Da Nang and Hoi An
BRG Da Nang Golf Resort (Danang Golf Club) opened in 2010 and immediately leapt to fame, being recognized as one of the 15 best new courses in the world by USA GOLF magazine. Da Nang Golf Resort has achieved many awards, including 2011, 2012, and 2013 Best Golf Course in Asia by the readers of Asian Golf Monthly as well as the 2012 Best Golf Course in Vietnam by USA Golf Digest.
2018 saw the opening of the Nicklaus Course at BRG Danang. The Norman designed Dunes Course uses the sandy loam soil of Danang Beach, a place with more history than golf. The Vietnam golf club is located directly on the beach that the Americans used for their first landing.
Here on Vietnam’s central coast, one finds a seaside landscape almost identical to the land of the world’s first courses. The links-style golf experience was crafted as much by Mother Nature as it was by any golf architect.
Montgomerie Links Vietnam
18 holes par 72 (7090 yards)
Designer: Colin Montgomerie
Established: 2008
Location: Between Danang and Hoi An
The Montgomerie Links, located just off historical Danang Beach and minutes from Danang City, is a stunning 7090 yard, par-72 golf course. The course is rated as one of Asia’s ten most elite courses by the 2012 Forbes Travel Guide as well as ‘Vietnam’s Best Championship Course 2013’ by the Vietnam Golf Magazine. Since then yearly awards are common for Montgomerie.
Nearby Hoi An, known for being a UNESCO World Heritage site, also has a fantastic beachscape, which makes the perfect palette for this links-style course. The Montgomerie Links Vietnam is known by locals as Monty Links, and gives golfers the feeling of being in Ireland or Scotland without the cold temperatures of the British Isles!
The first golf course in central Vietnam, it takes advantage of its proximity to both the Vietnam East Sea and the Marble Mountains, with a view of the latter from many points on the course.
Twin Doves Golf Club
27 holes par 72/36 (7282/3685 yards)
Designer: P + Z Development
Established: 2009
Location: 1.5 hours North of Ho Chi Minh City
The Twin Doves Golf Club offers a 27-hole international standard championship members golf course. Located 1.5 hours from Saigon, the Twin Doves parkland course is broken into three nines named Luna, Mare, and Sole. The Saigon golf course is one of the best-conditioned layouts in the Saigon area and makes excellent use of Paspalum turf and extensive landscaping.
With the views of rural Vietnam, the Luna Course comprises many small hills, fruit orchards, and neighboring forests. The mounding and land shapes combine to form challenging hazards. Five of the holes are connected by rolling hills and the rest are separated by tree-lined fairways.
