Argentario Resort Golf & Spa

This superb boutique resort with golf course and wellness centre is in southern Tuscany between Rome and Pisa. The rooms are chic and stylish, each featuring a terrace with views of the golf course or Monte Argentario and there is also an exclusive three-bedroom cottage. The Dama Dama Restaurant offers Tuscan and Italian cuisine, with particular attention to the culinary traditions of the region. The large outdoor areas include a panoramic terrace, a swimming pool and tennis courts. The region with its charming traditional villages and unspoilt coastline is well worth exploring.

It is in a picturesque setting in a nature reserve and has won awards for its bio eco-compatibility. It is a relatively flat course with two contrasting nines, the front 9 has elevated tee positions and lots of water hazards with views of Orbetello lagoon and the back 9 plays towards Monte Argentario.

CASTELFALFI GOLF CLUB TOSCANA RESORT
In the last few months an 18-hole and a 9-hole golf course and surrounding grounds have been laid out in the heart of Tuscany between Pisa and Florence. The golf courses are set in the 1,100 hectar grounds of the Castelfalfi Estate, consisting of a Borgo with Castello, vineyard and olive grove. The course, which was over 20 years old and was originally designed by Mancinelli, needed to be remodelled. By moving the location of the clubhouse to the centre of the two golf courses with spectacular views of the Castello, the way was clear for a complete redesign.

Firenze Ugolino Circolo Golf

FIRENZE UGOLINO CIRCOLO GOLF
In 1889, the British colony in Florence founded the Florence Golf Club, the first golfing association in Italy. The course was in the Cascine area of Florence itself and in 1905 the first Italian National Championship was held there. Immediately after WWI, the Golf Club transferred its premises to the area next to where the airport stands today, at Osmannoro. The idea of creating a new course began taking shape in the twenties and at the beginning of the thirties, Ugolino was founded on the Via Chiantigiana in 1933 and was designed by British architects Blandford and Gannon who had also designed the course at Monza near Milan. The course was par 69 but was considered difficult, owing to the ups and downs, the many trees and the small greens. In the sixties the course was turned into a par 72 by Piero Mancinelli. The clubhouse was built by Architect Gerardo Bosio who designed a structure fully functional and enjoyable to this day.

Punta Ala Golf Club

PUNTA ALA GOLF CLUB
The Punta Ala Golf Club was founded in the spring of 1964. Its splendid eighteen hole course, designed by Giulio Cavalsani, overlooks the sea. As well as the beautiful view, the course has many natural slopes and an impressive array of trees, which include evergreens, pines, cork trees, old oaks, not to mention many bushes. All of these offer the player obstacles which are challenging, to say the least. The total length is some 6,040 meters and par for the course is 72. The fairways and greens are maintained to provide perfect playing conditions. These are guaranteed by the clubs automatic sprinkling system and the attention of the full-time ground-staff. For these reasons, it is possible to play golf at Punta Ala throughout the year. The club is particularly active during the summer months when a number of international tournaments are held.

Terme di Saturnia Golf Club

TERME DI SATURNIA GOLF CLUB
Terme di Saturnia Golf Course was developed by the Californian architect Ronald Fream of Golfplan. The championship course, 18 holes, par 72, 6,294 m is set over 70 hectares at just 100 meters from Terme di Saturnia hotel. The course has been built to respect and safeguard local nature with the aim of earning the Italian Federation´s ecological certification. The construction of the course has had absolutely no effect on local fauna, with deer, porcupines, hares, tortoises, pheasants, carious local species of dove and pigeon, wild boars and countless other Maremman birds visible in the early hours of the morning. Artificial lakes and natural ditches throughout the golf course have in turn attracted other species. The terrain is partly flat with same gentle slopes and a few slightly undulating fairways. The course is home to three streams and some larger water hazards at holes 1, 2, 3, 9, and 18, with sand bunkers that resemble Scottish lynxes and the green predominantly surrounded by gentle mounts are technically and aesthetically very impressive.
