Gerard revisits Mexico - The Golf Holiday Destination with something for everyone!

Having been to Mexico on four previous occasions, I relished returning and looked forward to showing Mark Marais (Chaka Travel MD) around one of my favorite golf holiday destinations. We both looked forward to enjoying some winter sun, exploring a wide range of resorts, playing on the golf courses, and experiencing the legendary Cancun nightlife.

Days 1 – 2 Cancun, Mexico

After a 10-hour flight, we arrived early evening into Cancun, Mexico. We flew with Virgin and their service was excellent as usual, providing ample food and drink along with entertainment.

Upon arrival, we were whisked away to our first hotel, Secrets The Vine Cancun. Our rooms, Preferred Club Junior Suite Ocean View, were on the 21st floor, offering memorable views.

We started our culinary adventure with a t-bone steak at the Blue Water Grill, Steak Restaurant, and capped off the evening with entertainment in the lobby bar, including sampling some of Mexico's famous tequila.

The next day, after exploring the hotel, we enjoyed the pool and the sunny weather, complemented by refreshing cocktails.

Days 3 – 5 Moon Palace Golf Resort & Spa, Cancun Mexico

We moved to Moon Palace Golf Resort & Spa on the third day. This extensive resort features a 27-hole golf course.

Our first round of golf was eventful, with a club ending up in a tree, but it was all part of the fun. We also met with my clients, Mel and Joy Wright, and enjoyed their company throughout our stay.

While visiting Le Blanc Resort & Spa, we were impressed by its serenity and luxury, perfect for those seeking an adults-only environment.

We explored downtown Cancun, including the shopping and nightlife areas, but thankfully for our schedule, the clubs were closed during our visit.

Days 6 – 7 Dreams Riviera Cancun, Mexico

Our final stop was at Dreams Riviera Cancun, an ideal resort for families with various activities and entertainment options.

We visited several hotels, including Secrets Silversands, Secrets Maroma, and Now Sapphire, each with unique offerings for adults, honeymooners, and families.

On our last day, we played at the Grand Coral Course, enjoying a competitive round of golf before returning for a few final hours of relaxation.

The trip was a fantastic experience, showcasing the variety of excellent accommodations and the exceptional cuisine Mexico has to offer. But what stood out most was the warm hospitality of the Mexican people, which makes you want to return again.
