Matt's Latest Golf Report

It has been a busy golf schedule for Matt on the EuroPro Tour, travelling and playing in back-to-back tournaments each week. Here is Matt’s latest report:

On July 10th, I traveled several hours to play at Macdonald Portal Hotel, Golf & Spa in the EuroPro Tour. With a very steady first day, I finished up at 1 under par, hoping the next day would be as smooth. Day 2 started similarly with a series of pars before two bogeys and a double on the 9th. On the back nine, I managed to make up for this with an eagle and a birdie, leaving me at par for the tournament. Unfortunately, the cut line moved to just under par, and I missed out on the third day by the narrowest of margins.

The EuroPro Tour at Caversham Heath near Reading on the 24th of July was full of ups and downs, with many birdies but even more bogeys, which ended me at level par after day one and +2 after day two. Sadly, this was another missed cut, but I was hopeful for the next week when I would have another chance to make my way into the third day.

The week of the 8th of August, I played in the EuroPro Tour at Mannings Heath Golf Club, which is a lovely course down in the South of England. At -2 after day one, I was hopeful to make the cut for the third day, but it was an agonizingly close missed cut again, as I ended at par after day two.

The following week, I played in the EuroPro Tour at Frilford Heath outside of Oxford, just down the road from me. Playing this familiar course was a real mixed bag, with two eagles keeping me hanging on until day three. I was happy to have made the cut but had a disappointing final day, leaving me at +4 to finish the 3-day tournament.

The results look like I have already secured a card for next season's EuroPro to skip the first stage Q school and go straight through to the finals, so I'm very happy about this.

As always, thanks for the support and good luck with your own games.
