Chaka Travel were proud to again Sponsor Matt Mumford for the 2019 season including EuroPro events.
After finishing the 2018 season on the Jamega Tour with a Hole in One, we were excited to see how the year would shape up for the young professional, and he didn’t disappoint!
The season kicked off in January with the Thompson Tour. Matt played well in 4 events and qualified for the Tour Champs in April.
After rounds of +4 and -1 he managed a very respectable sixth place which was a great way to kickstart the year.
Next for Matt was the all-important EuroPro Q School. This is always a challenging week for the young professionals as a failure here would mean they wouldn’t qualify to play in the EuroPro Tour.
Thankfully Matt played two very solid rounds of golf and finished level par, getting him through to the Q school finals the following week!
The finals were another great week for Matt. Rounds of 72+73+71 made for tournament total of -1 and secured Matt a cat 6 card guaranteeing him entry to all EuroPro events in 2020!
Matt played many other events on the EuroPro this year between Hertfordshire and Scotland, bagging himself another hole in one (that’s a career total of 5), and again managed to finish high enough to also automatically qualify for the final stages of Q-school in 2020.
So now having qualified, pressure is off for Matt who has returned to work and is winding down over the Winter. A very well done Matt, we are looking forward to seeing what comes next for you!
