We are delighted to have former Ulster, Ireland and British and Irish Lions rugby player Stephen Ferris come on board as an ambassador.
Stephen's physical size, power, and searing pace made him one of the most destructive ball carriers in the rugby world. Cruelly an ankle injury at 28 years of age forced him to retire in 2014 after and since he has been working as a freelance broadcast journalist. He has enjoyed World Cups and Lions tours behind the microphone and is regarded as one of the best rugby pundit/commentators around. Stephen is also a very keen golfer and is a member at Royal Portrush, one of the world’s great links courses and host of the 2019 Open.
Chaka Travel's Managing Director Patrick McCaghy said that having met Stephen a few times he enjoyed his straightforward, honest nature and for someone who has achieved so much his lack of ego. We look forward to Stephen Ferris assisting us with all aspects of our business including our golf holidays, school and clubs sports tours as well as our supporters trips for the Lions tour to South Africa in 2021, including itineraries specifically designed for golfers!
Stephen said "I’m looking forward to my new role with one of the UK's leading golf travel companies and using my love of golf to add a new dimension to my future career."
We are really looking forward to staying at the world class Casa De Campo Resort in Dominican Republic, and playing “The Teeth of the Dog”, the leading course in the Caribbean.
